Eligible entries must be Ukrainian-language children&#8217;s publications printed in 2022-2023, promoting humane treatment of animals and environmental awareness, authored by Ukrainian writers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The award jury consists of:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Leo Busha<\/strong>, the boy from Irpin who inspired the entire Ukraine with his rendition of Chervona Kalyna song;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Ihor Koval<\/strong>, influencer, volunteer, and co-owner of a children&#8217;s clothing store;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Olesia Naumovska<\/strong>, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Folklore Department at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Svitlana Royz<\/strong>, child and family psychologist;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Yulia Slyvka<\/strong>, publisher, philologist PhD, and blogger;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Liudmyla Smolyar<\/strong>, editor-in-chief of UAnimals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>&#8220;The UAnimals team established the Humane Book award primarily to remind people of the powerful impact of books as tools for shaping a person&#8217;s worldview and to showcase the value of children&#8217;s publications about animals or the environment in Ukraine,&#8221;<\/em> explained Liudmyla Smolyar, UAnimals\u2019 editor-in-chief.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To learn more about the Humane Book award and nominate your favorite publications, visit the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uanimals.org\/kidsbookaward\/\">website<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reminder: UAnimals previously created the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UAnimals.Kids\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">UAnimals.Kids<\/span><\/a> project, dedicated to shaping children&#8217;s humane attitudes toward all living beings.
