{"id":11804,"date":"2023-12-08T19:20:36","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T17:20:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uanimals.org\/?p=11804"},"modified":"2023-12-11T16:42:57","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T14:42:57","slug":"the-russians-are-exporting-animals-from-the-askania-nova-biosphere-reserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uanimals.org\/en\/news\/the-russians-are-exporting-animals-from-the-askania-nova-biosphere-reserve\/","title":{"rendered":"The russians are exporting animals from the Askania-Nova biosphere reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Occupiers transported 2 Chapman&#8217;s zebras, 2 American bisons, 2 Przewalski&#8217;s horses, and a P\u00e8re David&#8217;s deer from the Askania-Nova biosphere reserve to russia. <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Another P\u00e8re David&#8217;s deer was injured during transportation and died.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All species of animals taken by the russians from Askania-Nova are <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">listed in the Red Book of Ukraine<\/span> and have the statuses of &#8220;extinct in the wild,&#8221; &#8220;critically endangered,&#8221; or &#8220;endangered.&#8221; Instead of the Red Book animals, the russians brought to the Ukrainian reserve<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> common elands<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, yaks, Bactrian camels, and guanacos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The occupiers claim that they made this exchange based on &#8220;cooperation agreements&#8221;.
