Dolphins.<\/span> Author\u2014Yevheniia Zavaliy, illustrator\u2014Maria Shevchenko.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Yarchik and 9 Dogs.<\/span> Author\u2014Anastasiia Melnychenko, illustrator\u2014Sofia Tomilenko.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone could nominate a publication for the award through the form on the website from November 16 to November 26. During this time, <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">enthusiasts suggested over 90 books<\/span>, out of which 29 met the organizers&#8217; criteria: promoting kindness among children, written by Ukrainian authors in Ukrainian, and published in 2022 and 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The UAnimals team reviewed these 29 publications, taking into account the number of times each was nominated, and <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">shortlisted 9 books:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Dress for Marusia by Hrasya Oliyko.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Corsair, or a Fluffy Story with Claws by Yulia Lazutkina.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Run, Forest, Run! by Yana Khomenko.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Puppy Who Counted Clouds by Iryna Matsko.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yarchik and 9 Dogs by Anastasiia Melnychenko.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mission Rescue. Dolphins by Yevheniia Zavaliy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dear Zhoo. Garden Tales by Anastasiia Lavrenishina.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saved Club. Unfluffy Stories by Sashko Dermanskyi.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Musia and Christmas by Halyna Kyrpa.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These works were evaluated by <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Ihor Koval<\/span>, an influencer, a volunteer, a co-owner of a children&#8217;s clothing store; <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Olesia Naumovska<\/span>, a doctor of philological sciences, associate professor, head of the folklore department at Taras Shevchenko National University; <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Svitlana Roiz<\/span>, a children&#8217;s and family psychologist; <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Yulia Slyvka<\/span>, a publisher, a PhD philologist, a blogger; <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Liudmyla Smoliar<\/span>, the chief editor of UAnimals; <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Leo Busha<\/span>\u2014the boy from Irpin who inspired Ukraine by performing &#8220;Chervona Kalyna.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I liked two books: &#8216;A Dress for Marusia&#8217; and &#8216;Corsair.&#8217; But, honestly, <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">all of them are wonderful,&#8221; shared Leo<\/span>. He also mentioned that his brother Elvin liked Sashko Dermanskyi&#8217;s book &#8220;Rescued Club. Unfluffy Stories&#8221; the most.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UAnimals founder Oleksandr Todorchuk congratulated the winners and emphasized: &#8220;At UAnimals, we try to change not only people&#8217;s actions here and now but also their values. <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">The change of values probably happens most easily in open-minded people who are ready for it, and, first of all, these are children.<\/span> We already see how they embrace the humane treatment of animals and consider it normal, relying on our content on social media.
