In doing so, they ensure the protection of people&#8217;s rights to a safe environment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Together with other committee members, Yuliia Ovchynnykova will work on developing a new Convention on environmental protection through criminal law. This document will <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">lay the foundations for a pan-European environmental criminal law.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>&#8220;At the second meeting of the Committee of Experts of the Council of Europe on environmental protection through criminal law, a draft of the mentioned Convention was presented, <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">which includes provisions on ecocide<\/span>, among other things. The new Council of Europe Convention will take into account the challenges facing humanity,&#8221;<\/em> said Yuliia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every person has the right to a clean and safe environment.
