UAnimals and the cross-party association \u201cCompassionate Country\u201d have received a response from Viktor Braginsky, the head of the Kyiv Metro, regarding the transportation of animals on the metro trains. The institution promises to consider the issue with the involvement of public representatives and to familiarize itself with international experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, UAnimals and \u201cCompassionate Country\u201d sent their proposals<\/a><\/span> regarding the transportation of animals on the subways of Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro to the heads of the metros, as well as to the mayors. In particular, they proposed to:<\/p>\n

– Lift the restrictions on the transportation of domestic animals (currently, only small animals can be transported on the metro in special containers and guide dogs with the appropriate certificate);<\/p>\n

– Require owners to provide constant supervision of their pets, ensure the safety of other people and animals, as well as property; owners will have to comply with sanitary and hygienic requirements and leash their pets, and dogs from the List of Dangerous Breeds will additionally need to wear a muzzle;<\/p>\n

– Allow owners of all domestic animals, not just guide dogs, to transport their pets for free.<\/p>\n

In addition, residents of Kyiv have registered a petition<\/a><\/span> to the Kyiv City Council demanding permission to transport large dogs on the metro.<\/span> It has already been signed by over 6,000 people.<\/p>\n

Not only offices, cafes, and shops \u2013 the metro can also be animal-friendly!<\/p>\n
