At the end of August, UAnimals rescuers made two trips through the Donetsk region. Volunteers helped evacuate the animals: some worked alongside the UAnimals team, while others transported animals in their own cars. In these two trips, they managed to evacuate 83 dogs, 66 cats, two goats, a billy goat, and three pigeons.<\/span><\/p>\n

During one of the trips, rescuers gathered animals in Myrnohrad, Hirnyk, Yampil, Selydove, Ukrainsk, Slovyansk, Pokrovsk, and villages in the Pokrovsk district. The UAnimals team then transported 14 dogs and 17 cats from the Donetsk region. In Myrnohrad, the rescuers also took a goat and a billy goat, which were transported to their owners in Podilsk, Odesa region. Another goat, possibly concussed, was rescued in Yampil and has already been reunited with her owner in Poltava region.<\/p>\n

Many animals were also picked up and transported by volunteers.<\/span> Serhii Ludenskyi evacuated 6 dogs and 4 cats from Selydove, Hirnyk, and villages near Pokrovsk in his own car. In Pokrovsk itself, a police officer handed Serhii a dog named Jina, whom he had found on the street and cared for but now needed to be evacuated due to the approaching frontline. Jina was taken to Dnipropetrovsk region to volunteer Hanna Selina, who will find her a new family.<\/p>\n

At UAnimals’ request, volunteer Ruslana Kulbida from Kryvyi Rih took in three dogs: they will live in a private home with new owners. Volunteer Volodymyr from Cherkasy also evacuated animals in his own car. He offered his help to UAnimals and transported 5 cats, 3 dogs, and a goat from the Donetsk region.<\/p>\n

Most of the animals were handed over to their evacuated owners or their relatives.<\/p>\n

The second trip to the Donetsk region has just ended. During this trip, the rescuers were assisted by volunteer Hanna Poynarko from Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region. Together, they managed to evacuate two animal rescue centers: Svitlana Ostapkova’s shelter in Myrnohrad and Darya Korkh’s shelter in Pokrovsk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Svitlana Ostapkova requested to relocate all the animals to a new, safer location in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region. They evacuated 36 dogs \u2014 all the remaining animals from the Myrnohrad shelter. From Pokrovsk, Darya Korkh’s animals were evacuated in two vehicles: 20 dogs, 40 cats, and three pigeons. All these animals were transported to the Cherkasy region, where she has set up a new shelter.<\/p>\n
