On September 10, UAnimals completed a mission focused on treating and sterilizing animals in Kharkiv region<\/span>. Over the course of 8 days, the veterinary team sterilized and treated nearly 400 animals in frontline villages near Kupyansk.<\/p>\n

The UAnimals veterinary vehicle stopped in the villages of Novoosynove, Osynove, and Prystin. In the mobile clinic, three veterinarians\u2014Natalka Sokolova, Olha Tkachenko, and Lolita Polishchuk\u2014conducted operations from morning till night<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The veterinarians sterilized 280 animals. All sterilized animals were treated for pests, vaccinated against rabies, and microchipped<\/span>. Additionally, 90 animals were separately vaccinated against rabies, and three difficult surgeries were performed.<\/p>\n

Most of the sterilized animals were stray. They were caught in nearby villages and Kupyansk itself and brought to the mobile clinic by catcher Roman Bidnenko. Since the shelters are overcrowded, these animals had to be returned to the places they had previously lived. Three of the youngest puppies from Novooosynove were rehomed: one was adopted by a family, and the other two were placed under the care of the Kharkiv Animal Rescue Service.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the veterinarians treated many domestic cats and dogs that local community residents brought in. A total of 20 veterinary consultations were provided. They also distributed 330 kilograms of cat food and 335 kilograms of dog food.<\/p>\n

This veterinary mission was made possible thanks to donors \u2014 the German Animal Welfare Federation<\/a><\/span>, Planet Humana Fund, and Gordon Karel Weiss<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n
