On September 28, the UAnimals volunteer community organized a photo day at several animal shelters<\/span>. Twenty people with cameras and phones visited seven shelters:<\/p>\n

– Hostomel Shelter and \u201cMala Dzyga\u201d in Kyiv region,
\n– \u201cLeague for Animal Protection \u2018Chance\u2019\u201d in Dnipropetrovsk region,
\n– Two shelters from the NGO \u201cWe Have the Right-2\u201d in Kharkiv region,
\n– \u201cAbandoned Angel\u201d in Khmelnytskyi,
\n– The \u201cLev\u201d municipal enterprise in Lviv.<\/p>\n

Since then, photos taken at the Pavlograd shelter have helped place ten animals in new homes<\/span>, according to shelter director Natalia Tychynska. \u201cThis is a stroke of luck! Usually, we place 2-3 animals a week, and sometimes none at all\u2026 It\u2019s usually very challenging, but this time we managed to find homes for four dogs and six cats. I see it as a gift of fate,\u201d<\/em> she shared.<\/p>\n

The \u201cMala Dzyga\u201d shelter also had success, according to its director Alla Yarmolyuk. \u201cThanks to the photos, a white French bulldog, a fluffy mixed-breed, and another French bulldog are on their way to Germany, and a Cane Corso is heading to Finland. I\u2019ve just started posting the photos; I can\u2019t post them all at once! Today, people from Spain called who want to adopt a dog they saw in the photos. They\u2019re Ukrainians who have been living in Spain for three years,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n

While the event took up her entire day, Yarmolyuk noted that the pictures helped find homes for dogs that need indoor environments and should be adopted before the colder weather arrives. \u201cI sometimes don\u2019t have enough time to clean, feed, and water them. When would I have organized a photo session myself?\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p>\n

At the \u201cLev\u201d municipal enterprise in Lviv, they\u2019ve also started using photos, says veterinarian and manager Ulyana Humenna. \u201cPhotography plays a very significant role. I try to take pictures myself, but with professional equipment, you get really high-quality photos. These attract more people who want to adopt an animal.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

We hope that more residents of \u201cLev\u201d and other shelters will also find homes.<\/p>\n
