He was fined 3,400 UAH and the dog was permanently placed in a shelter.<\/p>\n<p>The dog, Baron, was <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">temporarily removed from his abusive owner immediately after the incident<\/span>. Now, under the court\u2019s decision, he will not be returned to his previous dangerous environment. A local officer transferred Baron to the <em>SOS<\/em> shelter in Kyiv. The dog had been <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">receiving treatment at a veterinary clinic<\/span> and has just recently moved into his new home.<\/p>\n<p>The former owner has 10 days from the date of the ruling (until March 24) to appeal the court&#8217;s decision. However, he has not done so yet.<\/p>\n<p>To recap, on February 24, volunteer Anna <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uanimals.org\/en\/news\/kyiv-region-police-rescued-an-almost-blind-dog-abused-by-its-owner\/\">reached out<\/a><\/span> to UAnimals for help after witnessing a man beating the dog and dragging him by a chain. UAnimals\u2019 legal team contacted the police. An officer responded to the scene, filed an administrative report, and took the dog away from the owner.
