Previously, the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi District Court found him guilty and imposed a fine of 3,400 UAH. <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">The dog was confiscated and placed in a shelter<\/span> for permanent care. Now, the former owner seeks to overturn the court ruling\u2014if successful, he won\u2019t have to pay the fine, and the dog will be returned to him.<\/p>\n<p>The appeal will be reviewed by the Kyiv Court of Appeal. Its decision will be final and cannot be challenged. A hearing date has not yet been set.<\/p>\n<p>On February 24, volunteer Anna contacted UAnimals for help. She witnessed the man beating the dog and dragging it by a chain. UAnimals\u2019 legal team filed a police report.
