Her German Shepherd Rem had stayed behind at home, along with Marina\u2019s husband and her immobile mother-in-law.<\/p>\n<p>Maryna had left for Starokostiantyniv to undergo treatment with her daughter, but returning was already too dangerous. <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Her family couldn&#8217;t leave because of the dog.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>At the request of UAnimals, rescuers from the organization Save Animals Ukraine evacuated Rem. After that, Maryna\u2019s husband and his mother were finally able to begin preparing to leave Kostyantynivka. <span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">And Rem&#8217;s long journey began.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>With Save Animals Ukraine, the dog made it to Dnipro, and from there UAnimals rescuers brought him to Kyiv, where he received treatment at a veterinary clinic. UAnimals covered the costs for his stay, bloodwork, vaccinations, and antiparasitic treatments.<\/p>\n<p>From the clinic, volunteers took the dog to Starokostiantyniv to reunite with Maryna.<br \/>\n<em>\u201c<span style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Go for a walk, Remulya, my dear, my golden boy.<\/span> Say hi to everyone,\u201d<\/em> says the woman in a video she sent to UAnimals.<\/p>\n<p>Rem turned 4 years old this February.<br \/>\n<em>\u201cHe\u2019s very smart and kind, but he used to growl at people because he only knew us, his family,\u201d Maryna shares. \u201cI was afraid he wouldn\u2019t recognize me. When the volunteers brought him to me, I was standing behind the cage. I said \u2018Remochka\u2026\u2019 \u2014 and he perked up his ears.
