Doberman Luna became a donor for Pekingese Bonnie. The transfusion took place in Lviv on April 25. The guardians of both dogs found each other on the UAnimals blood donation platform<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

A 4-year-old Lviv dog Bonnie was bitten by a tick. This triggered a condition in which the dog needed a blood transfusion. Viktoriya responded with a dog named Luna. Thanks to the transfusion, Bonnie’s condition improved somewhat – he even started wagging his tail.
\n“He became a little more active. He started drinking water, but he still doesn’t eat. We go to the IV every day,”<\/em> says Halyna, the guardian’s sister.<\/p>\n

Luna is the same age as Bonnie. “I took her from the shelter when she was three and a half years old,” said Viktoriya, Luna’s guardian. \u2014 I planned to take an adult (and large) dog, because I know that this is a category of animals that are not often taken into a family. They already have a formed behavior, character, unknown previous experience. But I was ready for anything. \u201d<\/em> Victoria says that it was one of the best decisions in her life.<\/p>\n

According to her, the procedure for Luna went quite smoothly, but at first the dog was offended: she did not understand what was happening. She had to be injected with a sedative. However, the same day Luna returned to her usual active life, says Victoria: \u201cShe chased squirrels and played with the children in the yard. And the next morning she woke me up at seven (on a day off!) because she wanted to go for a walk. She is very strong.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
