Every week, UAnimals receives requests from Ukrainian service members in frontline regions asking for medical help for animals. Near the front line, soldiers often find abandoned animals and take them under their care \u2014 feeding them, treating them with their own resources, and sharing warmth with them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside soldiers, there are not only pets, but also farm and wild animals. Unfortunately, many of them require expensive treatment or urgent surgery. That is why we regularly launch fundraisers to cover medical care for animals looked after by soldiers. This is our seventh such fundraiser.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Are We Raising Funds For?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In frontline areas, animals are often injured or suffer fractures due to shelling. Many live with infections and other complications after long periods of cold and hunger. We cover the costs of treatment, surgeries, medications, rehabilitation, as well as the sterilization of cats and dogs \u2014 because animals born near the front line have almost no chance of survival.<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, recently in the Zaporizhzhia region, a soldier who worked as a veterinarian in civilian life noticed a dog named Kamila. One of her eyes had been knocked out, she could not stand up, and she turned out to be pregnant. The defender performed surgery, sterilized her, and removed the damaged eye. However, her condition remained critical \u2014 the clinic diagnosed inflammation and swelling of the heart, as well as internal organ contusions. <\/span>Thanks to the treatment we paid for, Kamila recovered: she can walk on her own and is now staying in temporary care.<\/span><\/p>\n

To process as many such requests from soldiers as possible and provide timely help, we urgently need to raise 550,000 UAH<\/strong><\/span>. These funds will be used to treat animals cared for by soldiers in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.<\/span><\/p>\n
