Radiation knows no borders \u2014 this is the main lesson of Chernobyl, one that the world has begun to forget. Today, russia has turned the nuclear threat into a weapon and occupied the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant \u2014 the largest in Europe and the third largest in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

We cannot wait for a new disaster that will destroy people, animals, and entire ecosystems. That is why <\/span>UAnimals<\/b>, together with the<\/span> International Center for Ukrainian Victory<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (ICUV) and other partners, <\/span>are launching a series of actions around the world<\/b><\/span> to demand an immediate end to the funding of nuclear terrorism \u2014 the imposition of sanctions on Rosatom.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this article, we\u2019ve compiled effective tools you can use to help stop russia\u2019s nuclear terror.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1. Attend a protest or take a photo with a sign<\/b><\/h2>\n

Your physical presence is the most powerful signal that the issue of russia\u2019s nuclear terrorism has not been forgotten. Here\u2019s what you can do:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Follow the announcements on our pages<\/a><\/span> and attend protests in your city. Your presence makes our collective voice stronger.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. If you can\u2019t attend one of our protests, create your own message. Download<\/span> the file here<\/span><\/span><\/a> and print one of the quotes from Chernobyl witnesses or ZNPP workers on an A4 sheet. Take a photo with this poster at a landmark location in your city and share it on social media with the hashtags #SanctionRosatom #StopEcocideUkraine.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Step 2. Send a letter to a Member of the European Parliament<\/b><\/h2>\n

    Politicians respond to official appeals. We\u2019ve prepared a letter template \u2014 all you need to do is select the recipient and send it. This works best when you reach out to MEPs from your region or country. Contact information is usually easy to find on municipal websites or the European Parliament\u2019s official portal.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Dear Member of the European Parliament [MEP\u2019s Last Name],<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    I am writing to you as a concerned citizen regarding the ongoing nuclear threat posed by the Russian state corporation, Rosatom.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    As we approach the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, we must remember that radiation knows no borders. Today, Rosatom is directly involved in the illegal occupation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, using it as a tool for nuclear blackmail and a military shield. Their actions are not only a violation of international law but a direct act of ecocide, threatening millions of human lives and fragile ecosystems across Europe.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    Despite this, the EU continues to import Russian nuclear fuel and technology, providing billions in revenue to the Russian war machine.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    I urge you to take a decisive stand and advocate for full sanctions on Rosatom and its subsidiaries.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    We cannot afford another Chernobyl. True security is impossible as long as we remain energy-dependent on an aggressor that uses nuclear power as a weapon.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    I look forward to your response and your actions within the European Parliament.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Step 3. Publish a post with tags<\/b><\/h2>\n

    This is the fastest way to show EU politicians that we are watching their decisions. Copy the text below and post it on social media (Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, or LinkedIn). Be sure to add the hashtags \u2014 they are what make the post visible.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In 1986, during the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, radiation proved it knows no borders. Today, 40 years later, Russia is using this fear as a weapon, holding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant hostage and deliberately destroying entire ecosystems. Rosatom is funding this war machine!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

    A nuclear disaster doesn\u2019t discriminate\u2014it destroys people, wild animals, and pets alike, poisoning water and soil for decades.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
