The\u00a0terrorism of this\u00a0country is unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">During the\u00a0full-scale war:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u25b6\ufe0f Russia has\u00a0caused environmental damage worth 2 trillion hryvnias;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u25b6\ufe0f 80 species of\u00a0animals are on\u00a0the verge of\u00a0extinction, and\u00a0over 600 species have\u00a0been affected;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u25b6\ufe0f 20% of\u00a0Ukraine&#8217;s protected areas have\u00a0been affected by\u00a0the war;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u25b6\ufe0f 183,000 square meters of\u00a0soil are contaminated with\u00a0harmful substances;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u25b6\ufe0f 2.4 million hectares of\u00a0forests need restoration in\u00a0the de-occupied territories, while 495,000 hectares are\u00a0still under occupation or\u00a0in conflict zones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u25b6\ufe0f 10 national parks, 8 reserves, and 2 biosphere reserves are\u00a0occupied \u2013 in\u00a0some of them, hunting and\u00a0capturing of wildlife are\u00a0allowed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">UAnimals has\u00a0also sent an\u00a0official appeal to\u00a0the UN Human Rights Council, calling for\u00a0the establishment of\u00a0a special international tribunal on\u00a0Russia&#8217;s environmental crimes during the\u00a0war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The terrorist state must\u00a0be held accountable. #StopEcocideUkraine<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u00abhitchhikers\u00bb on\u00a0the streets of\u00a0cities in Canada, the\u00a0USA, and\u00a0Germany were flagging down\u00a0cars and pedestrians to\u00a0deliver their message as\u00a0part of the\u00a0international campaign #StopEcocideUkraine by\u00a0UAnimals.
