This weekend, the Cleanup Day will take place in unique natural locations! On April 12, volunteers will be welcomed in the following national parks: Roztochchia in Lviv region; Podilski Tovtry in Khmelnytskyi region; Tsumanska Pushcha in Volyn; Nyzhnodnistrovskyi in Odesa region; and Holosiivskyi in Kyiv. The event on Khortytsia will be held on Sunday, April 13.
UAnimals invites everyone to help clean up the national parks and take a closer look at these natural wonders.
Did you know that the Tovtry Ridge was once a reef at the bottom of an ancient sea? It was formed by fossilized marine organisms. Cleaning up at Podilski Tovtry National Park is a great chance to look again at a mountain that was once part of the sea.

Tsumanska Pushcha in Volyn is wrapped in legends. In the crowns of mighty oaks live rare birds — the white-backed woodpecker and the great grey owl, and the gray crane can sometimes be seen on the wetlands. There’s also Devil’s Swamp in the forest, though the cleanup won’t venture there — everything will stay on solid ground.
Roztochchia in Lviv region is where the Main European Watershed runs — a line dividing river basins flowing into either the Baltic or Black Sea. Three botanical regions also converge here, making the plant life incredibly diverse. Some species are typical of the Carpathians, others of Polissia, and others still of Podillia. You’ll also find Ice Age relics growing here — dwarf birch and Lapland willow. The smallest bird in Ukraine, the goldcrest, is sometimes spotted too. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to see one?

To join, become part of the UAnimals volunteer community, and you’ll receive all further details via the volunteer chatbot. UAnimals will provide transportation to all locations except Holosiivskyi Park in Kyiv. Trash bags, gloves, and water will be provided on-site to all cleanup participants.
The cleanup campaign in national parks is supported by the Angelina Usanova Foundation.
Join the Cleanup Day — there’s still time!
