Over the past two weeks, the UAnimals team has evacuated 55 animals from frontline areas. Some of them, along with a few who were rescued earlier, have already found loving families. Here, we share the stories of those lucky ones who found their people in March.
Michael the cat was evacuated from Rodynske, Donetsk region, at the end of January, together with three other cats. They had all been living with a local volunteer, Polina. Michael was taken to a veterinary clinic in Kyiv for treatment — he had a neck injury. UAnimals covered the cost of his treatment. He has recently moved in with his new family in Kryvyi Rih.

Masiania the cat found a home in Khmelnytskyi. Until December 2024, she lived in the village of Serhiivka near Pokrovsk. She had been cared for by an elderly woman whose granddaughter wanted to move her to a safer place. All of the animals were evacuated by UAnimals rescuers, and the cats were placed in the Save a Life shelter in Khmelnytskyi. That’s where Masiania met her person.

Roma, a teenage pup from Sloviansk (main picture), has also found a new family. Rescuers named him after the soldier who submitted the rescue request. The soldier wanted to transfer him and several other dogs to volunteers in his hometown of Chortkiv, Ternopil region. Roman’s friends took in all of the dogs, and Roma was soon adopted into a new family.
