Throughout April, dedicated volunteers placed 100 birdhouses in forests across Ukraine as part of UAnimals’ traditional spring initiative.
In Khortytsia, Zaporizhzhia, volunteers installed 60 birdhouses, with 7 people joining the effort. These wooden shelters have been in place since the beginning of the month.

On April 19, 40 new birdhouses were added in Holosiivskyi Park, Kyiv. Fifteen volunteers gathered for this action.
Birds have specific housing needs, so the volunteers put in some real physical effort: both men and women carried tall ladders, climbed trees, and securely fastened the artificial nests. The birdhouses were handcrafted by carpenters in Kharkiv, commissioned specifically by UAnimals.
The project was funded by the Angelina Usanova Foundation.

While the birdhouses are primarily designed for starlings, they may also become home to swifts, wagtails, tits, sparrows, owls, and even some small mammals and insects such as mice, bats, dormice, and bugs.
