In October, UAnimals Rescuers Evacuated 209 Animals from Donetsk Region

In October, UAnimals rescuers and volunteers undertook three evacuation missions across towns and villages in Donetsk region. From frontline areas, they transported 99 cats, 100 dogs, 8 chickens, and 2 goats.

Once again, volunteers joined the rescue efforts, including volunteer Sofiya Samokhina on Mission 97. UAnimals rescuers Danylo Koval, Vlad Myachev, and Hanna Ponyrko also worked on missions.

During Mission 97, rescuers evacuated 90 animals from Selydove, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Kurakhove, Kramatorsk, and several villages.

Mission 98 was intense. Vlad Myachev recalls, “As soon as we arrived at the location in Kurakhove, a drone with a combat component hovered above us. Perhaps the electronic warfare blocked it, causing it to move slightly away, but it still hovered overhead, so we had to act quickly.” There, Hanna and Vlad were rescuing animals from a young couple. They love animals and said they wouldn’t leave until they gave them all away, Vlad said. “We took their animals, leaving only a husky. I hope they’ve already left with her.” The team also traveled to Selydove, Kostyantynivka, and the Pokrovsk district.

During the mission, rescuers transported a small farm as well, relocating 8 chickens, 2 goats, 5 cats, and a dog from Pokrovsk district. They delivered the animals to their owners in a village on the border between Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In total, 51 animals were evacuated.
