On February 24, volunteer Anna contacted UAnimals for legal assistance in a case of animal abuse. She provided a video showing a man on private property beating a dog with his hands and feet, and then dragging the chained animal by its leash.
UAnimals filed a report with the police regarding the cruel treatment of the animal. The police officer issued an administrative protocol under Article 89 of the Code of Administrative Offenses — the dog’s abuser faces a fine of 3,400 to 5,100 UAH and confiscation of the animal.
During the investigation, the dog was removed and placed under the care of a shelter. The abused animal is 14 years old and almost blind.
Next, the police will forward the case to court, and the court will determine the punishment.
