UAnimals is holding a series of rallies in various cities across Europe and the United States to commemorate the anniversary of the explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in Nova Kakhovka. Participants aim to remind the world of the environmental crimes committed by Russian occupying forces in Ukraine.
On June 5, rallies took place in Paris and Amsterdam.
In France, around 150 people joined the event. “On the eve of the terrible tragedy at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, we came out to remind everyone of the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine. The participants united in a march, demonstrating the solidarity between Ukrainians and Europeans, the shared values, and the commitment to fight for them,” said Volodymyr Kohutyak, co-organizer of the Paris rally and Vice President of the Union of Ukrainians in France.
In Amsterdam, there were about 70 participants. The event was joined by European Parliament member Thijs Reuten and Ukrainian soldier Andriy Siromakha, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation in the Netherlands.
On the evening of June 6, rallies will begin in Warsaw, Lisbon, Berlin, and New York, while on June 8, a rally is expected in Porto (Portugal), and on June 9, in San Diego (USA).
