Today, February 6, the shelter “Give a Paw, Friend” was hit by another russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia. The blast wave and debris damaged the shelter’s enclosures and infrastructure.
According to preliminary information from the shelter team, there are dead animals and a significant number of injured people. Since part of the enclosures were destroyed, some dogs escaped from the territory after the explosion, and they are being searched for. As of now, we know that at least nine animals with serious injuries are in the veterinary clinic. A shelter employee was also injured.
UAnimals is in contact with the shelter team. We are ready to pay for the treatment of the injured animals, as well as support the shelter with food and volunteer help. The head of the shelter asked to give her some time to stabilize the situation – after that we will be able to coordinate further steps in detail.
We are closely monitoring the development of events and will provide updates as soon as confirmed information appears.
