In the midst of the European Football Championship, when the world’s attention is focused on the tournament tables and national team rankings, Anatoliy Trubin of the Ukrainian national team reminded fans about the russian war and ecocide in Ukraine. UAnimals, together with the Ukrainian Football Association, created a video in which the national team’s goalkeeper calls for support of eco-activists and protection of the planet from russian aggression.
The video highlights that 3 million hectares of forests have been destroyed, 20% of protected areas have been affected, and more than 80 species of animals are at risk of extinction due to russian actions.
“The most important ‘save’ is to protect the planet from russian ecocide,” says Anatoliy. He adds, “Support UAnimals, the largest Ukrainian organization that protects animals from the war in Ukraine and promotes environmental conservation.”
Let us remind you: at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, UAnimals launched the international campaign #StopEcocideUkraine. As part of this campaign, they have held over 300 events in 50 countries across all continents, gained support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and are negotiating with foreign politicians and organizations.
Share the video with Anatoliy Trubin, join in spreading the word, and help create international pressure on russia! The aggressor country must be held accountable for ecocide.
