Since the beginning of December, UAnimals’ evacuation teams have made three trips to the Donetsk region, rescuing 183 animals. These included 91 cats, 89 dogs, a goat, a billy goat, and a raccoon. They also assisted one person in evacuating.
Danylo Koval and Hanna Ponyrko worked in the Donetsk region from November 17 to 21. From Myrnohrad, Bilytske, Ivanopillia, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, and other locations, they evacuated 29 dogs and 20 cats.

This lucky evacuated pup lived in Bilytske, Donetsk region, along with many other dogs and cats. Their owner remains in the area because of the animals. While the team couldn’t rescue all of them, they managed to evacuate four dogs in the worst health. Among them was a Japanese Chin suffering from a severe cough. He is currently receiving treatment at a veterinary clinic in Dnipro and will later join a new family. People from Poltava familiar with the breed contacted UAnimals and offered to adopt him.

This unnamed dog came from the military. He was handed over to the team from the village of Komar in the Kurakhove direction. The dog is now undergoing treatment in Kyiv.
From November 24 to 28, Vlad Myachev and Hanna Ponyrko visited Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and other locations. During this trip, they evacuated 30 dogs, 33 cats, and a raccoon whose owner gave him up. The raccoon now resides at the Wildlife Rescue Center in the Kyiv region.

These five little ones were rescued from Kramatorsk after their mother passed away. They were taken to Tetiana Nelha’s shelter in Pavlysh, Kirovohrad region.

Three other puppies from Kostiantynivka were also taken to Pavlysh. Volunteer Alyona Ovcharenko rescued them from a local market. There were originally five puppies, but two unfortunately succumbed to enteritis, a common issue among unvaccinated stray dogs.

In early December, Danylo and Hanna returned to Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Kostiantynivka, Bilytske, and other settlements. This time, they evacuated as many as 70 animals: a goat, a billy goat, 38 cats, and 30 dogs. They also helped one person leave the area. Among the passengers were 10 cats rescued from a zero line of defense and temporarily sheltered by volunteers in Sloviansk before UAnimals’ arrival. They rescued Elka, a cat with a spinal injury, from the Donetsk region. She was handed over by the military and has been taken to Olesia Leonova’s shelter in Dnipro.
