On Sunday, February 2, the UAnimals volunteer community will be cleaning up trash on Khortytsia Island. There’s still time for anyone interested to join!
The management of the Khortytsia National Reserve recently reached out to UAnimals for assistance. They noted that the water level in the Dnipro River has dropped, exposing a significant amount of trash along the shores. Additionally, many visitors to the reserve have left litter behind. The reserve team requested help with the cleanup, and volunteers will tackle this task on Sunday.
To join, register with the UAnimals volunteer community. Follow the instructions provided during registration. Once signed up, you’ll receive details about the cleanup and be directed to a dedicated Telegram channel for further updates.
UAnimals will arrange transportation to and from Zaporizhzhia. Those planning to drive their own vehicles will receive the meeting point location closer to Sunday. Volunteers are expected to gather at 10 a.m., and the cleanup will last about 3–4 hours.
It’s recommended to wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. All necessary cleaning supplies and raincoats (just in case) will be provided on-site. After the cleanup, volunteers can enjoy tea and snacks together.
