UAnimals Invites Volunteers to Clean Up Animal Rehabilitation Centers

On Saturday, March 22, UAnimals volunteers will be cleaning up two animal rehabilitation centers for the first time: “Kasova Hora” in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and “Vilni Kryla” in Lviv Oblast. Anyone can join the event — you just need to register with the community. The event is supported by the Angelina Usanova Foundation.

Volunteers are invited to clean up part of the territory from trash, clean animal enclosures, stack firewood, and, where necessary, clear out shrubs. All necessary supplies will be provided. Transportation from Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk is also planned. At the end of the day, all helpers will be treated to tea and guided tours.

“Kasova Hora” is the largest rehabilitation center for wild hoofed animals in Ukraine. It is located on the shores of the Burshtyn Reservoir near the town of Burshtyn. Here, in the Opillia steppes, live roe deer, fallow deer, a Przewalski’s horse mare, spotted deer (transported here with UAnimals’ assistance), and other hoofed animals.

At “Vilni Kryla” (Free Wings), more than 300 rescued birds are treated and cared for, and if possible, released back into the wild. The center is located in the village of Kozhychi near Lviv. You can learn more about “Vilni Kryla” here.

Previously, with the support of the Angelina Usanova Foundation, UAnimals organized cleanups in shelters rather than rehabilitation centers. For example, on March 15, 82 volunteers cleaned up 7 shelters:

  • “V Dobri Ruky”, “Zooplatforma”, and “Zoopatrol” in Kyiv Oblast
  • “Kytskyn Dim Mokri Nosi” in Poltava
  • “Pokynutyi Anhel” in Khmelnytskyi
  • “Sumy Society for Animal Protection” in Sumy
  • “Leroy” shelter in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Rain didn’t get in the way — volunteers helped install enclosures, clear areas for animal playgrounds, and wash windows and floors.

The UAnimals community already includes 3,150 active volunteers.
