Uanimals opened the “Stop Ecocide Ukraine” exhibition in Brussels

The international project “Stop Ecocide Ukraine” has been launched in Brussels, highlighting the consequences of russia’s war against Ukraine for animals and the environment. The exhibition will run from November 8 to 14 at the Ukrainian Voices Residence (Rue de la Loi 89).

The project brings together the work of Ukrainian war photographers Serhiy Korovayny, Taras Fedorenko, Oleksandra Zborovska, Volodymyr Chepely, Iryna Rybakova, Dmytro Hreshko, and footage from the film Divia. Their photos show how war destroys not only people’s lives, but also animals, nature, and ecosystems.

A separate section of the exhibition is dedicated to artifacts from UAnimals rescue missions — items that have become part of real rescue stories.

Visitors will also see a film anthology from Sota Cinema consisting of seven short stories created by artists from different countries based on real events. The films show how war changes the lives of people and animals and how closely these worlds are connected.

The project was created by UAnimals, Animal Society, and Territory of Participation with the support of the IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen).

The exhibition aims to show that war is not only a human tragedy. Every day, it takes the lives of wild and domestic animals, destroys natural habitats, and leaves ecological scars that will take decades to heal.
