UAnimals Volunteers Cleaned Forests in 6 Regions of Ukraine

On September 21, more than 150 people participated in the autumn CleanUp Day. Together, they collected nearly 10 tons of waste in the forests of Kyiv, Mykolayiv, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Poltava, and Khmelnytskyi regions. Most of the collected trash was sent for recycling.

The champions in waste collection were the residents of Odesa, who gathered as much as 5 tons of garbage in Luzanivskyi Park. All recyclable materials, including plastic, glass, and cardboard, were taken by foresters to recycling centers.

Odesa region

In Kyiv region’s Irpin Forest, 1.5 tons of waste were collected, while one ton was gathered in Boryspil district, also in Kyiv region, and another ton in the forest near the village of Kopyly in Poltava region. Some of the waste from Kyiv region was removed and sent for recycling by partners from the company “GrinKo,” while activists transported the rest.

Mykolayiv region

Kyiv region traditionally attracts the most participants—35 people attended the cleanup at each of the two locations. Around 20 volunteers worked in Mykolayiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions, 15 in Poltava region, and only 8 dedicated individuals joined the effort in Khmelnytskyi region. However, together they managed to collect 200 kilograms of various trash from the forest near the village of Kolybaivka!
