The Kyiv shelter “Zoo Patrol” constructed four enclosures with funds donated by UAnimals this past May. These donations were part of a campaign to help animals in the Kharkiv region. The new enclosures are now home to dogs evacuated from the Kharkiv region.
Animals continue to arrive from frontline zones, but shelters across Ukraine are overcrowded. For example, “Zoo Patrol” is currently home to around 500 animals. To help the shelter accommodate more dogs, UAnimals donated 42,000 hryvnias.
With these funds, the shelter poured concrete floors and installed bars for four enclosures. The walls will still need to be tiled. However, these enclosures already house dogs evacuated from Vovchansk and other frontline towns and villages. In total, “Zoo Patrol” now has 72 enclosures.
Would you like to help animals from frontline zones? Then join the current campaign to expand shelters that take in evacuated animals:
– “Zoo Family” in Pavlysh, Kirovohrad region;
– “Abandoned Angel” in Khmelnytskyi;
– “Lesia’s Team of Zoo Volunteers” in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region.
