10 Years of UAnimals — A Great Fundraiser for an Evacuation Vehicle

UPD. Friends, we have good news. On March 16, our partners at FUIB Bank supported the fundraiser and transferred UAH 1,600,000 (≈ $36,200) toward the purchase of an evacuation vehicle. This is tremendous support, and we are very grateful for their help! Now we need to raise the remaining amount together so that the vehicle can set off as soon as possible to rescue animals from frontline settlements.

UAnimals turns 10 this year. For the past four of those years, we have been making regular evacuation trips to the front line. Every week, we go to Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and other regions that remain under constant enemy shelling. We evacuate 30 to 60 animals per trip, including pets, farm animals, and wild animals. Sometimes we also help people leave dangerous areas.

Until recently, we worked with two evacuation vehicles — the «Bison» and the «Buffalo». Last year alone, these buses covered 159,585 kilometers.

In February 2025, a drone attacked the front of the «Bison». The strike damaged the cabin and windshield and destroyed a wheel. The blast wave also hit the «Buffalo», shattering several windows and bending the doors. We repaired the second vehicle and kept working. However, in December, a Russian drone destroyed the «Buffalo» completely. Fortunately, the people and animals survived. Despite all the safety measures, it is impossible to work a few dozen kilometers from the contact line without risk.

Now we are left with only one vehicle. It runs non-stop and needs repairs after nearly every trip. Therefore, we are launching a great fundraiser for a new evacuation bus. We aim to raise UAH 2,450,000 (≈$59,036).

We are considering used vehicles available in Ukraine. We are looking specifically for a Volkswagen Crafter, because these vehicles have already proven reliable in our work. They meet our needs in terms of size, durability, and budget, and allow us to safely transport many animals.

The estimated cost of the vehicle is around UAH 1,600,000 (≈$38,554). In addition:

• We will equip the vehicle with an electronic warfare system — approximately UAH 450,000 (≈$10,843), including installation;
• We will convert the body for transporting animals by sealing and paneling it, installing a stove, air conditioning, and a ventilation hatch so that the animals can travel in comfort in both winter and summer. Such a conversion costs approximately UAH 400,000 (≈$9,638).

It is a large amount, but together, it is possible.
