Fundraiser for the installation of a roof over eight enclosures at Zoodopomoha shelter

Help the animals at Zoodopomoha shelter in Kirovohrad region stay protected from the scorching sun, rain, and snow.

We are raising UAH 428,305 (≈$9,625) to install roofs over eight enclosures that are home to ~90 dogs.

The shelter is currently caring for 369 rescued animals — 256 dogs and 113 cats. Many of them were evacuated from Dobropillia, Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Druzhkivka in Donetsk region. They have survived shellings, lost their homes and their loving people. Some of these dogs are still traumatized and very skittish.

Among them is the dog named Bimka. Our team evacuated him from Pokrovsk after the his temporary shelter was completely destroyed by enemy shelling. He has already been waiting for two years for a family, and the shelter staff say he has been rejected by the people twice after being adopted.

A dog named Huba also lives in these enclosures. She was brought here by the soldiers at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Before that, someone had abused her — they shoved a firecracker into her mouth. Fortunately, she survived.

But for now, Bimka, Huba, and the other dogs have no other option but to live in enclosures without proper roofing.

“In winter, it’s snow and rain. The food gets soaked through, the dogs get wet. And when it’s scorching hot, you can’t even step on the flooring with your bare feet — it’s burning,” the shelter staff say.

The funds from this fundraiser will be used to install a support structure, a durable roof, and a drainage system. This will protect the animals from heat, rain, and snow, and allow shelter staff to comfortably take care of them in any weather.
