Fundraiser for Animals Affected by the War

Right now, veterinarians are treating a dog named Chelsea, who came to the soldiers at their positions in Mezhova, Dnipropetrovsk region. She had deep wounds on her body, and the skin under her chin was torn off. The soldiers suspect that Chelsea might have been injured in a strike.

They cared for the dog for several days, and during a rotation, they took her with them and reached out to us. Chelsea is now being treated at a veterinary clinic in Dnipro. It turned out she is also heavily infested with worms. Ahead of her are wound treatments, medication, and recovery.

Also staying at the clinic is a dog named Dronchyk (yes, it comes from the word drone;). The animal was seriously injured during a shelling in Kherson. He could have lost his leg, but the veterinarians decided to fight for it. Treatment is ongoing, and the bill has already reached UAH 75,000 (≈$1,682).

After every evacuation, we first take all the cats and dogs to the clinic. Some only need an examination, tests, vaccinations, treatments, and spaying/neutering. But sometimes we bring animals in very critical condition — with wounds, viral infections, or injuries. In those cases, blood transfusions, emergency surgeries, hospitalization, and long-term recovery are required. Only after treatment do the animals go to shelters or families.

We have launched a fundraiser for UAH 550,000 (≈$12,331) to cover veterinary care for the animals we have evacuated from Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. They are currently under the care of veterinarians at veterinary clinics in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa.
