In Lviv, a man killed a dog — UAnimals filed a report with the police

UAnimals has contacted the police, demanding an investigation into an incident that took place on September 26 on Shchyretska Street in Lviv. A man beat a dog with a stick, causing the animal’s death. Law enforcement officers have initiated a pre-trial investigation, and animal rights volunteers are urging the police to pay the closest possible attention to the case.

Witnesses reported the dog’s killing to the police. According to their testimonies, the dog’s owner requested that the man kill the animal. Patrol officers seized the dog’s body and sent it for examination, and the police opened a criminal case.

Witnesses say the woman has another dog, which they believe may also be at risk of abuse. UAnimals has submitted a request to the police to remove the second dog from the owner under part 5 of Article 168 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. However, the police have so far stated that there is no legal basis to seize the dog.

Activists are demanding that the police rescue the second dog and thoroughly investigate the crime against the first one without delay. Animal rights advocates emphasize that it is crucial to ensure that the guilty party does not escape punishment.
