A five-year-old dog named Buddy from Chernihiv successfully underwent a blood transfusion after his guardian found a donor through the UAnimals Blood Donation Platform.
Buddy (photo above) had been suffering from anemia for a long time and eventually needed an urgent blood transfusion. The clinic where the procedure was performed didn’t have a blood bank, so a donor was required. Buddy’s guardian submitted a request on the Blood Donation Platform, and Svetlana responded. Her 4-year-old Alabai dog, Zaya, became the donor. The transfusion was successful, and both animals are now doing well.

The Blood Donation Platform simplifies the process of finding blood donors for animals. Pet owners can register their pets as potential donors, while those in need of blood for cats or dogs can submit requests.
Currently, 392 animals across 76 cities are registered as potential donors. Thanks to this platform, veterinarians have already performed 8 successful blood transfusions.
