UAnimals Calls for a Protest in Warsaw Against Russian Environmental Crimes

On October 19, concerned individuals will gather in Warsaw to urge the international community to hold russia accountable for crimes against nature. The event is part of the #StopEcocideUkraine campaign, organized by UAnimals in collaboration with the “Euromaidan-Warsaw” organization.

The rally will start at 2 p.m. on Castle Square (Plac Zamkowy). Activists will take to the streets with the following demands to the international community:
– Prosecute кussia for war crimes against the environment in the International Criminal Court;
– Support demining programs and initiatives for environmental conservation, including the protection of specific species.

Since 2022, UAnimals has held rallies in various countries, with a focus not only on animal rights but also on the preservation of Ukraine’s environment as a whole. “With the onset of the full-scale invasion, we are forced not only to address our internal issues but also to protect nature from an external aggressor,” says Olga Chevhanyuk, Head of Strategic Initiatives at UAnimals.

From late September to early October, with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, UAnimals held protests against ecocide in Austria, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, bringing together over 300 Ukrainians and international supporters. Nature knows no borders, and stopping crimes against it is a shared responsibility for people of all nations.

Please help spread this announcement or join these international protests yourself — let the voices of Ukrainians be heard far and wide!
