UAnimals Demands an Inspection of Crocodile Living Conditions in a Dnipro Aquarium

Animal rights volunteers from Dnipro have sent UAnimals photographic evidence showing a crocodile swimming in a very cramped aquarium. UAnimals’ legal team has filed a request with the police to inspect the living conditions of the crocodile and verify the necessary permits for its captivity.

The crocodile resides in the educational and scientific complex “Aquarium,” which is part of the Oles Honchar National University in Dnipro. It is likely that the living conditions violate the regulations for the care and breeding of wild animals in captivity or semi-captive conditions.

If the university lacks the required documentation for the crocodile’s captivity, the institution could face accountability under Article 88-1 of the Administrative Code. Violations of wildlife captivity rules can result in fines, with or without the confiscation of the animal.
