Anyone can nominate a person or people who systematically help animals or the environment in Ukraine for the award. Applications are accepted until February 18, 2025. You can also nominate yourself!
The Animal Protection Award, organized by UAnimals and the cross-factional coalition Humane Country, aims to honor those who dedicate their time and efforts to protecting animals and nature in Ukraine. UAnimals seeks to support these people and share their stories with other Ukrainians and the world.
You can nominate someone for the award on this page (in Ukrainian). The shortlist will include nominees who:
- Regularly help any species of animals or the environment, specifically in Ukraine;
- Do not exploit animals in any way;
- Do not collaborate with russia;
- Have not received the award in previous years.
In the application, it’s important to explain why you believe this person deserves the award. The UAnimals team will create a shortlist, which will then be reviewed by a jury (the jury members will be announced later). Typically, 10 to 20 people become award winners. UAnimals may also give special awards, including posthumous ones.
The 2025 Animal Protection Award will be the third annual event. This year’s general partner is the Anhelina Usanova Foundation.
