The first summer of full-scale war was over. The summer during which Ukrainians showed heroism, resilience, and devotion. The summer we cried a lot, worked a lot and saved animals from hunger, diseases, and injuries, evacuated them from hot spots, and searched for and placed them in new families.

For the amount of
2 794 949 UAH
In August 2022:
● we managed to help 23 302 animals for 2 794 949 hryvnias. This amount included the payment of sterilizations and vaccinations, logistics, purchase and shipment of feed, purchase of medicines and treatment, reconstruction of shelters, evacuation, and administrative costs;
● 19 190 kilograms of fodder were sent from our warehouse: 7 820 kilograms for horses, 11 370 for cats and dogs. In total, in August, we provided food to 12 162 animals from 18 towns and villages;
● 1 017 animals were sterilized and vaccinated against rabies as part of our free sterilization program for homeless cats and dogs;
● our legal department sent 18 appeals to state institutions, 10 statements to law enforcement agencies in the case of animal cruelty, one petition letter, provided consultations on animal protection issues that came to the hotline, concluded three contracts with partners, achieved the adoption of a draft law in our editorial office regarding the ban on fireworks;
● we evacuated 204 animals from hot places. During some trips, the situation became dangerous, so volunteers had to postpone the trip either or wait in safe places;
● 14 cats and 2 dogs were taken abroad;
● repair of buildings for wintering in the Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve continues, fund-raising for the restoration of the floor in the Kherson shelter goes on, fund-raising for the repair of the Dnipropetrovsk stud farm, which was damaged by shelling in the second half of August, was opened;
● we opened the photo exhibition “Animals and War in Ukraine” in The Hague, designed to highlight for the world the suffering and survival of animals in the realities of a full-scale war in Ukraine;
● we enlisted the support of Ukrainian stars who are raising money to help animals affected by the war;
● the legendary rescue dog Patron was accepted into the team;
● we took part in meetings in Istanbul, Rotterdam, and Malmö in support of Ukraine and because of the suffering of animals as a result of the war;
● вwe opened a raffle for Mahatma Gandhi’s autograph;
● we released a film, Nine Lives about hero volunteers;
● we launched a new UAnimals Kids project for little ones to help them understand and learn how to care for an animal properly.
