Thanks to the 1,383 donors who supported the UAnimals fundraiser, hundreds of animals will now be able to receive veterinary care right on the shelter’s grounds.
At the Mini-Shelter — Dobre Serce, which is currently home to nearly 400 animals, the veterinary trailer has been fully equipped. From now on, examinations, treatments, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and — if necessary — simple surgeries can be performed directly on the shelter’s premises, without wasting precious time transporting animals to clinics.
This was made possible thanks to the 1,383 people who supported the UAnimals fundraiser. Together, we raised 330,116 hryvnias and 93 kopecks, of which 330,020 hryvnias and 98 kopecks were allocated to the project.
Before the fundraiser began, the shelter did not have a dedicated space for veterinary care. New animals arrive here regularly — including after evacuations from frontline areas. Often, these animals are in serious condition: suffering from wounds and injuries, infections, and advanced illnesses. Dogs and cats that have been living at the shelter for a long time also need help.
Thanks to the fundraiser, we were able to purchase the trailer itself, which has been converted into a fully-fledged veterinary facility with an inpatient ward and a small operating room. Here, animals can be immediately examined, vaccinated, treated, spayed or neutered, and — if necessary — operated on and kept under observation for recovery.
In addition to the trailer itself, we also helped with its basic setup. To equip the veterinary facility, we purchased an examination table, two stands, disposable pads of various sizes, and a supply of canned dog food for animals undergoing treatment.
Now the shelter has a separate space where animals can receive immediate care without risking their condition due to lengthy transport to a veterinary clinic.
But the need for help doesn’t end there. We regularly launch new fundraising campaigns for evacuations, medical treatment, setting up shelters, and other projects without which saving animals would be impossible.
