The funds raised will be used for surgeries, medication, tests, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and other veterinary care.
Ukrainian soldiers often rescue and take in animals they encounter near their positions, at checkpoints, or in other dangerous areas. But when these animals are injured, seriously ill, or in need of urgent surgery, it’s not always possible for them to provide proper veterinary care on their own. That’s when the soldiers and their families turn to us.
That’s why UAnimals is launching a fundraiser for the tenth time to cover the treatment of animals under the military’s care. This time, we aim to raise 350,000 hryvnias for veterinary examinations, lab tests, medications, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, surgeries, hospitalization, and other veterinary services.
Thanks to our previous nine fundraising campaigns, hundreds of animals have been given a chance at life.
The soldiers found Bobby, a dog, behind a checkpoint — he had gotten tangled in an anti-drone net and couldn’t move. At the clinic, he was diagnosed with fractures of the pelvis and sacrum, frostbitten paws, and severe abdominal wounds. Bobby was treated, nursed back to health, and placed with a new family in Germany.
The dog Julie now lives with the same family. She made her way to the soldiers at a checkpoint, where she was accidentally hit by a car. Her fractures had healed improperly, so Julie underwent a complex surgery and rehabilitation.
As for the five puppies that the soldiers found near their positions, we covered the costs of their hospitalization and treatment for a severe form of distemper (133,435 hryvnias). We are currently continuing to cover their treatment for demodicosis.
Soldiers who care for animals near the front lines and lack sufficient funds for their treatment may apply for assistance. After receiving a request, we assess the animal’s condition and arrange an appointment at a veterinary clinic. Veterinarians determine the necessary treatment. We prioritize helping animals in critical condition.
