UAnimals volunteers stocked up on treats and visited two shelters – Rifugio in the Kyiv Oblast and Pegasus in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The volunteers made treats for the animals themselves: some made chewing treats from cosmetic clay and grains, others prepared dried fruits or gathered fresh apples or carrots.
Horses, pigs, goats, and sheep eagerly enjoyed all three types of treats. Additionally, the volunteers left fresh apples, carrots, and cabbage at “Pegasus” for the shelter animals to enjoy later.
At Rifugio, the star among visitors was a boar named Kabachok: “The shelter is wonderful, the animals are just incredible, especially the little boar Kabachok! My heart was won over by the horses!”; “The animals seem well cared for and happy. We had a wonderful tour!”; “We fed them, petted them, and even did some chores with Kabachok the boar.”
Together, they had a fantastic day. And if you missed this event, don’t worry: volunteers regularly attend various events as part of the Helping Shelters in Ukraine project. UAnimals community members walk dogs, clean shelters, and assist with construction work there.
Join the community! Every action is an opportunity to interact with animals and do something beneficial for them.
