Paw of Care campaign to provide 26 shelters with quarantine boxes

UAnimals and the pet store chain MasterZoo, a part of the Suziria Group, have raised over 1.6 million hryvnias during the third wave of the Paw of Care campaign, held in collaboration with Visa. The funds will be used to purchase quarantine boxes to ensure the safety of animals in 26 shelters in Ukraine. Among the first to receive them are the animal rescue center Homeless World, and volunteers from Kherson.

Animals that enter shelters are susceptible to infections due to their weakened immune systems, making them vulnerable to other animals that may infect them. According to veterinarian Viktor Vorotnykov, up to 70% of puppies and 30-40% of kittens in shelters are at risk of dying if not provided with special conditions. Quarantine boxes help prevent this by comfortably isolating animals, providing medical care, and supporting their health until they find a new home.

It is precious for UAnimals that socially responsible Ukrainian companies care about the environment and contribute to helping animals. We are convinced that only together can we achieve global positive changes,” said Valentina Tarkovska, Head of Partnerships and Fundraising department.

The third wave of the “Paw of Care” campaign lasted from September 19 to November 19. To participate, MasterZoo customers purchased a paw-shaped sticker for 10 hryvnias in-store or online. If paid by a Visa card, the charitable contribution was tripled, totaling 30 hryvnias.

“The ‘Paw of Care’ is a contribution to supporting shelters and saving animal lives. We observe that with each new launch of the initiative, the number of interested persons grows. During the first wave of the campaign, 35 thousand stickers were purchased. In the second one, the number increased to 57 thousand, and in the third wave, it reached a total of 75.5 thousand. MasterZoo plans to continue launching projects to help animals. There may be another phase of the Paw of Care campaign,” commented Denis Rogachev, Head of E-commerce department at the Ukrainian MasterZoo pet store network.

In total, during the Paw of Care campaign, thanks to MasterZoo’s customers, over 4 million hryvnias were collected to help animals. With the funds collected during the first wave, 251 animals were spayed and vaccinated in different regions of Ukraine. The money from the second wave in early 2023 was directed to the purchase of veterinary drugs, funding treatment, neutering, and vaccination of animals affected by the war.

Together, animal welfare advocates, environmentally conscious businesses, and all caring individuals can make the world more humane!
