Recently, UAnimals received photos of people posing while holding lion cubs. It turned out that these photos were taken at the “Zolotiy Fazan” recreation center, which has a petting zoo on its territory. When asked directly if it was possible to take photos with lion cubs, the staff of the center answered positively.
The law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Animals from Cruelty” prohibits keeping large predators at recreation centers and also prohibits providing photo services with wild animals.
Lion cubs and other wild animals are separated from their mothers at a very early age to be exploited for profit. Exploited lion cubs with numerous fractures, injuries, illnesses, and in terrible stress have already been received by the Wildlife Rescue Center of Natalia Popova and UAnimals. UAnimals emphasizes that exploitation and cruel treatment of wild animals are illegal.
Wild animals are not objects or props for photos!
