UAnimals has filed a complaint about the contact zoo in the town of Kotelva in the Poltava region

Within the territory of the hotel and entertainment complex “Sapphire” in the Poltava region, there is a private zoo where various animals, including lions, reside. Recently, an incident occurred there when a man was bitten by a lion. This event was shocking, as everything indicated a violation of safety rules and animal care norms.

Upon learning about this story, animal welfare activists visited the zoo and saw with their own eyes the conditions in which the animals were living. In short, the conditions were appalling: there were injured animals, some with open wounds, and the animals were drinking from puddles and lying in mud. Instead of proper shelters, they had wooden boxes.

Adding to all of the above, this is a contact zoo that previously offered photo services with lion cubs, as reported by eyewitnesses.

Keeping wild animals and birds in public catering and leisure establishments is prohibited by law! Therefore, UAnimals has filed a report with the police and insists on a thorough investigation of this place, demanding to initiate a pre-trial investigation.
