Starting Wednesday, anyone can help animals survive the winter more comfortably by donating to the Great Winter Fundraiser through UAnimals’ pages. With these funds, UAnimals will purchase equipment and materials to keep 3,500 domestic and farm animals warm this winter in 13 shelters and in the National Reserve “Khortytsia.”
The shelters and reserve need firewood, hay, sawdust, fuel — sunflower husk briquettes, peat briquettes, and gas cylinders for insulation. Shelters will also receive boilers, inverters, convectors, and generators depending on their needs.
The shelter “Friend” in Dnipro will receive a field kitchen, allowing them to cook for the animals during a blackout. The National Reserve “Khortytsia” will receive salt briquettes, which will be placed in the wild for animals to lick, helping them maintain proper metabolic function.
The plan is to assist the National Reserve “Khortytsia” and the following shelters:
– “New World” (Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region);
– “Friends of Animals” (Konotop, Sumy region);
– “Friend” (Dnipro);
– “PHOENIX” (Boryspil, Kyiv region);
– “Chance” (Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region);
– “Zoofamily” (Pavlysh, Kirovohrad region);
– “We Have the Right-2” (Kharkiv region);
– “Abandoned Angel” (Khmelnytskyi);
– “Big Heart of Toma Pastukh” (Vinnytsia region);
– Hostomel Shelter (Kyiv region);
– Cow Shelter “Healthy Life” (Vinnytsia region);
– “Mala Dzyga” (Kyiv region);
– “ShchasSpasu” (Kyiv region);
– National Reserve “Khortytsia” (Zaporizhzhia).
