UAnimals to microchip evacuated animals

The UAnimals’ Direct Aid Department plans to microchip animals evacuated from dangerous areas and enter their information into a unified database. The chip will help identify the animal and track where and in what conditions it lives.

UAnimals is already raising funds for evacuation trips in February, taking into account the costs of microchipping. The Direct Aid Department is also seeking veterinary clinics in frontline cities to partner up with and microchip rescued animals.

In one month, UAnimals rescues up to 300 animals from frontline areas. Typically, after evacuation, they are placed in various animal shelters. If an animal has a chip, organizations will find it easier to track its fate.
