In December, we actively continued with your help to rescue animals affected by full-scale war. Evacuation, delivery of fodder, and collection of funds for wintering or treatment are all someone’s life saved on the front line, in the occupation, or in the de-occupied territories.

In December 2022:
● we managed to help 12 431 animals for 3 329 933 hryvnias. This amount included the payment of sterilizations and vaccinations, logistics, purchase and shipment of feed, purchase of medicines and treatment, reconstruction of shelters, evacuation, expenses for the Natalia Popova and UAnimals Wild Animals Rescue Center, and administrative costs.
● we sent 27 928 kilograms of fodder from our warehouse: 293 kilograms of hay for horses and 27 635 kilograms for dogs and cats. In total, in December, we provided food to 10 100 animals from 36 cities and towns;
● we sterilized 849 animals as part of our free sterilization program for homeless cats and dogs;
● our legal department provided consultations on animal protection issues that came to the hotline, dealt with other contracts, statements, and letters;
● we supported the Hetmanskyi National Park in Sumy Oblast and assisted with the purchase of 4 000 tons of corn for winter feeding of 250 wild pigs and 70 roe deer that live on the territory of the park;
● we helped the Hutsulshchyna National Park, for which we bought fodder for feeding 27 deer, 130 roe deer, and 10 horses of the Hutsul breed;
● we supported the Mezhihirsky Swan Shelter having 41 swans, 8 geese, 23 deer, 3 roe deer, and 50 domestic pigeons under its care, and provided animals with fodder for a month;
● we supported the Avelen Animal Rescue Centre in Odesa and assisted them in harvesting hay and firewood. The center accepted animals evacuated from hotspots, including 3 horses, 2 ponies, 18 sheep, 16 goats, and 2 llamas;
● we purchased and delivered 10 tons of hay to the animal shelter Rifugio Italia Kj2 in Kyiv Oblast having 27 ungulates under its care, and provided them with hay for the entire cold season;
● we donated 13.5 tons of hay to the Healthy Life shelter in Vinnytsia Oblast takings care of cows and bulls, and provided them with hay for the entire cold season;
● we purchased and handed over 5 250 kilograms of hay for the shelter Vuhlyk in Mykolayiv Oblast having 60 ungulates under its care;
● we helped in the reconstruction after the fire of the Give a Chance shelter in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast having 200 dogs under its care, and gave them 1 400 kilograms of feed;
● we supported the Friend charity fund in Kramatorsk, which housed 40 dogs in foster care. There was a fire and money was needed for reconstruction;
● we evacuated 5 horses, 7 pigs, 3 nosedives, 1 porcupine, 19 dogs with puppies, and 24 cats;
● we handed over 1 700 kilograms of cat and dog fodder to volunteers and shelters in Kherson;
● we held a nativity meeting in London and an action in Chicago as part of the #StopEcocideUkraine international campaign;
● to the 100th anniversary of the world-famous song Carol of the Bells. Together with Tina Karol and the children’s choir Dzvinochok, we presented an updated composition version to the tune of Mykola Leontovych. The track was created as part of the #StopEcocideUkraine international campaign;
● instead of the traditional New Year’s tree, a mock-up of a Russian rocket was installed at the representative office of Ukraine in Washington as a reminder of the conditions in which Ukrainians are forced to celebrate the holidays this year;
● we launched a collaboration between UAnimals Kids and the Kalamar Publishing House regarding the raffle of children’s books;
● we visited Vsi.Svoi market, where three puppies found their families;
● we launched a project and collaboration with the Iguverse game application;
● we launched a partnership with the Sniffer application;
● we completed the first phase of the Furry Employees project;
● we launched a collaboration with Ukrsibbank and Mastercard for the Winter Collection;
● we launched the second phase of Paws of Care with MasterZoo with the support of Visa;
● together with the public, we achieved that draft law #8150 was not considered, and instead drafted a new one, taking into account comments and excluding controversial points;
● we closed several fund-raisings: Preparation of Shelters for Winter, for booths in Ruski Tyshky, for equipment for dogs from the Antares detachment, for wintering centers for birds from the rehabilitation center for wild birds Free Wings and booths for the town of Kamianske;
● we began the reconstruction of the quarantine space in the Best Friend shelter as part of the project with TM Suziria;
● at the end of the month, 4 lions were evacuated abroad.
