This month we did the following:

🚚159 animals were evacuated from the frontline areas; 13 of them are domestic ones.
👆For this issue, we met with the management of the “Kyiv Metro” regarding the permission to transport animals in the subway.
🔅875 cats and dogs were sterilized in frontline areas.
🐾1 600 kilograms of feed were shipped and sent.
❗️In Lisbon, a screening of short films was organized to mark the tenth anniversary of Ukraine’s struggle against russian aggression.
🏠More than 300 000 hryvnias were transferred to the construction of shelters and warm kennels.
💵In total, 6 million 310 thousand 938 hryvnias were spent. This included financial assistance, payment for sterilizations, construction of insulated kennels, purchase of firewood and straw, purchase and shipment of feed, logistics, purchase of medicines and treatment of animals, and evacuation from war zones.

🐾We helped to treat animals and processed 14 applications from volunteers who care for animals. Vaccines, antiparasitics, flea and tick treatment, diapers, ointments and eye drops were purchased. 248 103 hryvnias were spent on it.

🐾We sent quarantine boxes as part of the “Paw of Care” campaign to five shelters:

— public organization “Fatum” in the Mykolaiv region;
— “Vsi Hvostiki” (“All the Tails”) in the Kharkiv region;
— “Novyi Svit” (“A New World”) in Kryvyi Rih;
— charitable foundation “CSA Gostomel shelter for animals” in Hostomel;
— public organization “HUMANE SOCIETY OF KRASNOARMEYSK” in Pokrovsk.

🐾Besides this, we purchased following:
– 5 tons of feed for humanitarian aid for February and early March;
– 80 kilograms of wet food for the evacuation team for special needs during the evacuation of animals;
– 1 130 kilograms of feed, diapers, vaccines and a lamp for sterilization missions.

🐾 Bought 11 m3 of firewood for animals from the non-governmental organization “Druh” (“A Friend”).
🐾We implemented the “The Care” project and purchased complex treatment for animals for three shelters, namely for:

• “Sumy Animal Protection Society”;
• “Pokunytiy Anhel”(“An Abandoned Angel”)
• “Bezprytulniy Svit” (“A Homeless World”).

🐾More information about financial support:

• Money was transferred for food for dogs cared for by the “Bez Hranyts” (“Without Borders”) charity fund;
• provided financial assistance to the non-governmental organization “Shtyl” (“A Calm”) to pay for the treatment and rehabilitation of the dog Laima, who was rescued from the front line by the military;
• supported the charitable organization “Phoenix Animal Relief Fund” and money for animal treatment and feed.

🐾12 853 kilograms of feed for 4 819 animals were shipped.

🐾We paid for the stay and vaccination of a dog evacuated from Lyman, which is being treated at the “AldenVet” clinic in Kyiv. Later, the dog was transferred to the “Bezprytulniy Svit” (“A Homeless World”) center, the Kyiv region.

They took all the animals from the “AldenVet” clinic, which were transferred there from the “DogHelp” shelter in Pidlissia, and handed them over to their care:

• ten dogs – to the “Mala Dzyga” shelter;
• six dogs (Max, Ryabchyk, Tuchka, Boroda, Black, Brownie) are under the care of the “Sumy Animal Protection Society”;
• one dog was taken by its owner Tamara Pastukh;
• three puppies were taken by their owner Yelizaveta Bakhmanova, who previously gave the puppies to the “DogHelp” shelter; she recognized the puppies and came to pick them up at the vet clinic;
• 13 puppies came to Tetyana Nelha, where they will be cared for by the “Zoosemya” (“Zoo Family”) Charitable Foundation.

🐾We paid for an operation on the tail of a cat that was evacuated from Inhulets (the cat was handed over to relatives of a military man in Kyiv), and also paid for an examination, treatment of a wound on the nose, tests and vaccination of a dog that was taken from a checkpoint in the Kherson region.

🐾 A total of 159 animals were evacuated. More about evacuation:

• a billy goat and three goats, 16 cats, 8 dogs were taken from the Donetsk region (Toretsk, Selydove, Novohradivka, Halytsynivka, Slovyansk, Druzhkivka);
• 2 cows, 1 heifer, 2 goats and 4 baby goats, 3 cats, 3 dogs and 20 puppies were rescued from the Kherson region (Kachkarivka, Tyahynka, Inhulets);
• 21 dogs and 8 cats were taken out of the Donetsk region (Siversk, Toretsk, Kramatorsk, New York, Hirnyk, Slovyansk); and from Toretsk, Pokrovsk, New York, Slovyansk, Lyman — 9 dogs, 35 cats/kittens, 23 puppies.

🐾34 animals were transported.
🐾 A total of 875 animals were sterilized (600 cats, and 275 dogs).
🐾Mass sterilizations were carried out in Kherson and in the cities of Buda, Pivdenne, Bidryahy, Bystre in the the Kharkiv region.

🐾More about the “UAnimals” Community:
11 volunteers cleaned the “Bezprytulniy Svit” (“A Homeless World”) animal rescue and rehabilitation center and for the whole day removed 6 tons of garbage, moved about 100 pallets and made enclosures out of them, collected 4 cubes of firewood, brought 15 bales of hay and 15 bags of sawdust.

🐾Animal enclosures are being built in the “Bezprytulniy Svit” (“А Homeless World”) for the amount of 400 000 hryvnias.
🐾An additional payment was made for the production of 25 insulated dogs booths, which are cared for at the “Harantiya” utility company in Kherson, which suffered from shelling, in the amount of 74 738 hryvnias.
🐾We are financing the construction of the “Druh” (“A Friend”) shelter in Dnipro for the amount of 192 014 hryvnias.

🐾1 600 kilograms of feed were distributed in five frontline regions and about 750 animals were fed:

• Kharkiv region (Khroly, Velyki Prohody, Mali Prohody, Stary Saltiv, Manchenkу, Spartasy, Pisochуn, Bobrivka, Bayrak, Momotove, Kutuzovka, Kupуansk, Borova, Bohuslavka, Zahryzove);
• Zaporizhzhia region (Zhovtenke);
• Mykolaiv region (Prybuzke, Myrne, Posad-Pokrovsk);
• Sumy region (Shalyhyne);
• Donetsk region (Novoselivk a, Lyman, Vovchiy Yar, Yatskivka, Oleksandrivka, Shandryholove).

🐾Animals were walked in ten shelters of Ukraine thanks to more than 80 volunteers.
🐾Volunteers were asked to conduct an inspection of shelters and contact zoos in their cities. Seven zoos from Kyiv, Odesa, Poltava, and nine shelters in six cities of Ukraine have already been checked.
🐾The core of the Community (the most active and verified) joined to help coordinate and transport animals for the “AdoptMe Days” event from the Hostomel shelter.
🐾Met with volunteers online and discussed various legal aspects of animal rescue.
🐾Prepared and launched “Tyrbotlyvyi Zbir” (“Caring gathering”) by February 14 and collected 46 873 hryvnias for medicine and treatment!
🐾A large gathering was launched for the construction of a horse hospital in “Pehas” (“Pegasus”);
🐾The famous rock band “Lordi” recorded a support appeal as part of the horse fundraiser.
🐾We received 394 100 hryvnias from charity sticker packs for sterilization.
🐾Received 3 730 kilograms of feed from our wonderful partners Josera.
🐾The first partners joined the Corporate Platform.
🐾We received 200 kg of feed from Home Food and have already delivered it to the shelter.
🐾We signed documents on cooperation with SQUAD, Gradus Reseach, Hotline.ua.
🐾We agreed on a partnership with vetbio.
🐾A charity stand-up with comedians from different countries was held in London. The proceeds will go to five charitable foundations, as well as “UAnimals”.
🐾The VIRA charity fair devoted to the problems of ecocide was held in Lisbon. The “UAnimals” joined.
🐾We received 24 tons of fodder from DDAO from Germany.
🐾On February 24-25, the “Nordiccon” charity event took place in Malmo, where we were invited as a charity fund for which money is collected.
🐾Took part in awarding the team from the “Nova Poshta”.
🐾We applied for a grant to preserve the owl species.
🐾And we also responded to 53 requests in the chatbot for legal assistance.

🐾We prepared and sent:

• A letter to the Ministry of Environment regarding the demining of the territory of the “Hetmanskyi” nature park.
• Proposals to the Ministry of Infrastructure regarding amendments to the Procedure for using the Dnipro metro and the proposal to allow travel with pets and Proposals to the Kyiv City Council, Kharkiv City Council, Kyiv and Kharkiv metro, on changes to the Procedure for using the subway, with a proposal to allow the use of the subway with pets.
• Appeal from the head of the “Humanna Kraina” (“A Humane Country”) Inter-factional Association of Mrs. Ovchynnykova regarding amendments to the Rules for using the subway and the proposal to allow the use of pets.
• A request was sent to the investigator to change the legal qualifications and add additional evidence to the materials in the “DogHelpUkraine” case.
• Three statements about an administrative offense (cruelty to animals).
• Four statements of criminal offense and animal cruelty.
• Appeal to the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine regarding an unscheduled inspection on the territory of the commission of an administrative offense, on the territory of the Solomyansky Landscape Park.
• Petition for recognition as a victim in the case of the killing of a dog in Zhytomyr and for familiarization with the case materials.
• Complaint to the Berdychiv city and district court about the inactivity of the investigator.

🐾 “UAnimals” lawyers have also attended important animal rights meetings. More about these meetings:

• On the initiative of the “Humanna Kraina” (“A Humane Country”) inter-factional association, a joint meeting was held with the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and animal protection organizations. Important issues in the field of veterinary medicine and animal protection were discussed.
• The first working meeting was held with the management of the “Kyiv Metro” regarding the transportation of animals in subway trains.
• There was a meeting with Community volunteers.
• Took part in a working meeting with animal protection organizations on ensuring the welfare of wild animals in captivity.

🐾Analyzed and prepared conclusions to the draft law “On waste management of the extractive industry” 11024 dated 19.02.2024, the Law on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine” on ensuring the preservation of territories and objects of the nature reserve fund, the draft Law “On making changes to some legislative acts regarding the liberalization of the land market and land relations”:

• monitoring of European animal welfare organizations for interesting legislative initiatives (Animal in Law (Tier im Recht);
• analysis of Ukrainian legislation on the subject of animal euthanasia, what is regulated, how it is allowed and how it is punished;
• preparation of a conclusion based on the results of the analysis of the issue of euthanasia and providing a comment;
• research on the topic of representation of animal rights in European scientific articles, search for ideas for implementation in Ukraine.

🐾 The work on the package of documents on the draft law on amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regarding increasing responsibility under nature protection articles has been completed. We are waiting for the conclusions from the scientists of the National University “Odesa Law Academy”:

• information on animal burial posts, discussion on pet euthanasia post;
• questions and suggestions for discussion with veterinary clinics regarding treatment protocols.

🐾 In total, 736 people registered in the bot this month. In addition, there have been changes to the operation of our help chatbot, namely:

• changed the work format of financial and humanitarian aid to project work (launched a total of 3 projects within a month + prepared the fourth);
• reformatted work with reports in the bot so that users did not forget to report on time and everything was as automated as possible;
• set up separate telegram channels for direct assistance managers, where notifications come separately for each direction.

🐾 More information about the chatbot commands:

• we have created a database of useful contacts and continue to fill it;
• we are updating the calendar of important events;
• made a convenient blacklist button;
• onboarding is partially done;
• changed registration;
• invented and implemented a new form for monthly data collection of employees.

🐾 We are working on the details of the “Animal Protection Award”.
🐾Organized a meeting with partners and friends for the birthday UAnimals organization.

🐾We are working on the “UAnimals” educational platform:

• the course plan, topics and subtopics of the lectures formed with the main speaker;
• a project implementation plan was written;
• the general concept of the course and the general vision of the lectures are outlined;
• we started writing the lyrics and working on the visual part;
• the shooting script is being prepared.

🐾They formed a list of 100 different animals in the regions of Ukraine, and in particular, they took into account red book animals. This list will be transferred to virtual Ukraine in the future.
