NOVEMBER 2022

In November, we actively helped the de-occupied Kherson Oblast – both people and animals, because the long time in the occupation was critical for everyone. At the same time, we will continue to rescue tortured animals from the front line and help those still in the occupied territories.

In November 2022:

● we managed to help 13 951 animals for 3 023 932 hryvnias. This amount included the payment of sterilizations and vaccinations, logistics, purchase and shipment of fodder, purchase of medicines and treatment, reconstruction of shelters, evacuation, expenses for the Natalia Popova and UAnimals Wild Animals Rescue Centre, and administrative costs.

● 25 000 kilograms of fodder were sent from our warehouse. In general, in November we provided food to 7 982 animals from about 100 cities and towns;

● we sterilized 862 animals as part of our free sterilization program for homeless cats and dogs;

● our legal department prepared a draft appeal to the Verkhovna Rada on the condemnation of crimes against the environment and a draft statement of the Verkhovna Rada on the recognition of russia’s actions as ecocide, one statement to law enforcement agencies on the fact of cruelty to animals provided consultations on animal protection issues that were received on the hotline;

● we transferred funds for the purchase of fodder, medicines, and preparations for treatment for 10 093 cats and dogs (as well as hedgehogs, ducks, and parrots);

● we helped to purchase hay, straw, and fodder for 395 horses, 6 spotted deer, 29 ponies, 49 sheep, 35 goats, 21 cows, 7 calves, 4 roe deer, 23 rabbits, and 2 donkeys;

● we helped to buy hay for 918 animals from the Green Grove eco-farm, which took in more than 200 evacuated animals;

● we helped to purchase vitamin and mineral supplements for 23 American bison of the Yelanetsk Steppe National Park;

● we supported the Halytskyi National Park of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and provided assistance for the construction of new quarantine enclosures for ungulates;

● we helped to purchase 3 tons of corn for 150 wild roe deer, 100 wild boars, and 200 hares that live on the territory of the Buzky Grad National Park of Mykolaiv Oblast;

● we supported the Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve and helped to purchase 20 tons of cabbage for their 1 000 ungulates;

● we supported the Velesiv Yar bird sanctuary in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and helped to buy feed and repair the roof;

● we transferred funds to an ornithologist in Horishni Sherivtsi, Chernivtsi Oblast, who treats and releases wild birds. Now there are 13 birds under her care;

● we supported the Center for the Rehabilitation of Bats in Kharkiv and transferred funds for the purchase of feed and medicine for 60 bats;

● we purchased fodder for 19 birds of the Rukavychka shelter in Khmelnytskyi Oblast and 18 birds and 5 bats of the shelter Children of the Air. Swifts and Bats in Dnipro;

● we transferred money to Lviv vegan kitchen in Lviv, which prepares and delivers packages of vegan food for our military;

● we delivered 400 kilograms of food for homeless animals in Sloviansk, and also evacuated 5 injured dogs, 15 puppies, 5 cats, and 9 kittens from there;

● we evacuated 42 cats, 21 dogs, 13 beehives, 10 pigs, 6 goats, 5 rabbits, 2 cows, 30 rats, 1 turtle, 13 nutrias, a raccoon dog, 1 python, and 1 boa;

● we handed over 400 kilograms of fodder for dogs and cats in de-occupied villages of Kherson Oblast and brought 1 800 kilograms of fodder to Kherson for 3 shelters and 5 volunteers who have more than 1 000 cats and dogs under their care;

● we held an action on Wall Street in New York, where a russian missile “arrived” as part of the #StopEcocideUkraine international campaign;

● UAnimals activists held individual pickets around the world as part of the #StopEcocideUkraine international campaign;

● we completed a joint initiative with Uklon, during which Uklon users collected 330 thousand hryvnias for animals through the Donate option in the application;

● with your help, we raised money for the treatment of two evacuated lion cubs;

● we began cooperation with Eat Me At on Vegan Day, with a fund-raising for the Rifugio shelter;

we began cooperation with robota.ua on the Fluffy Employees project;

● we began cooperation with the Orang+Utan chain — goodies for four-legged friends;

● we held a raffle with the British band BMTH;

● two puppies were adopted at the Vsi.Svoi charity market;

● we started a partnership with Greenpeace and Ecodia and we are working on issues of ecocide with the international organization StopEcocideInternational.
