🔅🐾And the work of our international department:
💫To draw attention to Russia’s environmental crimes in Ukraine, the International Department organised several actions abroad. Thus, tears appeared on animal statues in four European cities. And in London, they were looking for a lost diaper that may have disappeared forever due to the actions of the Russians.
💫We took part in a conference in Lviv organised by the Ukrainian Red Cross – “Environmental Protection through the Prism of International Humanitarian Law”. We told the audience that international humanitarian law does not contain any rules for protecting animals during armed conflicts. We also cited cases of evacuation flights by the UAnimals team that could serve as precedents for changes in IHL. It will help protect animals not only in Ukraine but also around the world.
🐾Together with our community, we:
- Made 9 feed distributions, more than a tonne of feed that animals in the frontline areas received.
- We distributed posters about sterilisation. Now, more than 200 posters across Ukraine emphasise the importance of stopping chaotic breeding.
- We cleaned shelters in Ukraine:
The 1st wave – 5 regions of Ukraine and 25+ people cleaning;
The 2nd wave – 5 shelters, regions of Ukraine and 20 super people cleaning.
- We held our first online conversation with community volunteers and received excellent feedback on our activities and plans for the future
🐾And we also collectively shared posts about the meeting, telling how to help animals during the winter.
So, in November, there were 1289 volunteers in the UAnimals Community: 1,122 in Ukraine and 167 abroad.
We are grateful to every one of them for helping animals!
